Prior to starting with Houston Electric, Tim was in the Navy for 10 years. Tim started his military career as a Fireman Recruit and worked his way up to First Class Petty Officer. Tim elected to be an Electrician’s Mate when starting his career with the military.
Tim went through an eight-month course for engineering training and AET training providing electrical theory, hands-on labs, and course studies. His first command was not available since they were currently deployed overseas, so Tim was sent through further training in ISCS/ICAS.
This consisted of troubleshooting computers and basic maintenance of computer peripherals. Tim was then ocean bound on his first command and went through engineering training again for certifications.
Tim’s day to day at this point consisted of maintenance and troubleshooting of every electrical component in the ship.
When Tim left the Navy and moved home to Enid, he found a place at Houston Electric in the Automation Department. Tim has been with Houston Electric since 2015.
Due to Tim’s military experience, he is very dependable, provides the same quality of work daily, and provides a consistent method for every task that is carried out.
Tim is great at sharing his knowledge and experience with others and is excellent at building relationships with employees and customers.
Tim moved into a supervisor position in 2018 and has been instrumental in ensuring all jobs are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.
