Prior to starting with Houston Electric, Mike took an electronics course at Autry in Enid. In this class, Mike started building the foundation of his electrical knowledge, learning about AC/DC circuits, frequencies, capacitance, and troubleshooting.

Mike Nunley has been with Houston Electric for 17 years now. When Mike started his electrical career, he had the pleasure of working with Kris Krout as his first Crew Leader. Kris was new to the industry at that time as well but had a few years on Mike.

Kris and Mike learned a lot together. Mike found that the ability to adapt, finding growth in challenging situations, and the determination to find solutions to problems was going to be a key to his success here.

Mike started running his own crew after 3.5 years and passed his Journeyman exam with flying colors on his first attempt. He ran one of the most self-sufficient crews, handling his own equipment maintenance, material orders, and scheduling.

Mike prided himself on being able to handle any situation without reaching out for assistance. Mike is a great teacher and has a huge amount of patience when teaching others.

Another employee once stated if you ask Mike what time it is, he will tell you how a clock works before giving you the time.

Mike is excellent at building relationships with customers and providing guidance in any electrical situation to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and correctly.
